We are planning a trip to Arizona in a little more than a week, and we need to make sure our van is up to snuff for the ride. We'll be traveling down through central and southern Utah, entering Arizona through page, heading down to the areas around Show Low, and finally stopping in St. Johns for the rest of our trip. We have some friends down there and will be visiting them for a few days before making the same trip back again. We'll be heading though all kinds of weather, and I expect to see snow, rain, and a lot of heat before the trip is over. All of our van's systems for dealing with the variations in weather must be working properly, or it might be an uncomfortable and unsafe voyage.
I think everything is working well, but just to be safe, we will likely invest in some extra auto parts. Aside from the spare tire, we'll have extra fuses and windshield wiper blades. I may also check with our auto insurance provider to see if there are any authorized repair shops along the way. We do plan to stop for the night on the way down, either at Bryce Canyon or somewhere in Page, and it might not be a bad idea to take advantage of the diagnostic services available at each location to make sure everything it running up to specs.
We want to have a good time, and the more we prepare now, the less we will have to worry about it once we are on the road.
